This chinstrap set is best for the “front seam - fixed loop” M1 Helmet.  Cast buckle, J hook and end-keeper are made of blackened brass.  Cotton webbing is od#3 in shade (khaki).  Helmet chinstraps in WWII were sewn to the helmets chinstrap loops located on the left and right side of the helmet.  See photos located here (click text).

OD#7 (Dark Green) Drawstring Helmet Net

Reproduction helmet net with drawstring tie. This is the darker colored (olive drab shade 7) helmet net.  These nets tend to run on the tight side but they do, with some effort, stretch onto an m1 helmet.  Tips for stretching over a helmet are included with purchase. -- Which net should I get?  As for historical accuracy, both colors ran concurrent with one another.  Airborne enthusiasts tend to gravitate towards the khaki, infantry the darker.  So, as you guessed your choice is a matter of personal preference.  I think the darker shade looks best.   As for what guys are buying?  The darker net outsells the khaki 10 to 1.  As for ease of installation?  The lighter net is slightly larger and installs much easier than the darker.

Band, Helmet, Camouflage - Unmarked

These are made here in our shop from an original roll of elastic webbing.  The color is olive drab shade 7.  In WWII these were issued with helmet netting in late 1944.  Use them to "hug" netting, covers or foliage to your helmet.  The WWII version were unmarked.

Camouflage Helmet Net Scrim

Colored burlap for camouflaging helmets.  This order includes 9 feet total in 3 colors; green, bright green, and brown – 3ft.  of each color.  We recommend cutting the strips down the middle making them 1/2 as wide, this insures the strips will slip through the holes in the netting and will completely cover your helmet.
