THE NUMBER ONE (#1) QUESTION WE RECEIVE BY EMAIL IS:
“How much is shipping?”
The answer can now be found by using this new shopping cart. Shipping is automatically calculated based on the weight of the items ordered. The shipping rates are in “real time”…. so you are not OVER or UNDER paying. Shipping charges are clearly stated BEFORE you make the payment.

August 30th, 2010:
Gee. We don’t know quite where to begin on this one…
It seems we have been accused of misleading our customers. Late last week I received a phone call accusing us of purchasing another company’s spray paint and re-selling it as our own. The accusation went so far as to say that we are “liars” and there is NO way we can be filling our own aerosol cans.
“The paint you’re selling for $18.00 can be purchased elsewhere for only $6.00!”
The other company is RAPCO PARTS COMPANY. Click HERE to see their website.
Rapco does in fact sell paint, and I might add, at a much lower price than ours. We know this because we used to purchase paint from them. (Below is a can of their paint.) They are nice people, very well known for military vehicle paint and parts.
You will notice that our aerosol cans look similar to Rapco’s. Very astute of you! The LABEL is GENERIC and is also used by FASSE PAINT (click HERE), the company from which we purchase our pre-charged aerosol cans – not our paint*. (Incidentally, we also purchased FASSE’s filling machine which is now bolted to one our workbenches. Last week we used it to fill over 60 cans of helmet paint; works great!)
The accusing customer has convinced himself we are liars, scoundrels and money grubbing cheats because there happens to be another entity selling paint with a matching generic label. We use this label because it informs the user how to use the spray can and lists all the cautions and data material necessary for the safe use of the aerosol can.
This customer goes on to say, “I just want you to know that I WILL NOT ACCEPT your shipment! And, as a matter of fact… I have called my credit card company and filed a dispute!”
We don’t like having to defend our practices, but at the same time we need to defend our practices.
I suppose it never crossed the customer’s mind to call us and simply ask about Rapco’s similar label, giving us the opportunity to explain how it is that our labels look the same. Rest assured, we never shy away from inquiries and are happy to answer any questions you may have about any of our products.
Below are some pictures of our equipment if you’re interested. Enjoy your day.
*We prefer to keep the source of our paint to ourselves, just as your favorite restaurant doesn’t give away its recipes.
August 19th, 2010:
Tomorrow August 20th is my 39th birthday… I am working a half day. Helmet orders have been steady and we are getting a bit bogged down… I am doing my best to keep up with it. As usual, small item orders are shipping within 1-3 days of ordering.
Iola was a good show we enjoyed connecting with some of our customers as well as goofing around a bit with the road crew of AT THE FRONT.
We will be attending the Rockford Illinois WWII Days event. More to follow.
August 13th, 2010:
We are at the IOLA Military Show August 13th thru 15th.
August 3rd, 2010: We updated some product photos….. Our Westinghouse Jump Liners and the Option 2 Fixbale Helmet w/ Rayon Liner
Helmet Paint is OUT OF STOCK… I wasn’t paying attention to my stock and I can’t fill cans until I get more gallons in… should be here in about 7 days or so….
July 26th, 2010: You will notice the absence of the ORIGINAL MILITARIA pages…. don’t panic…. we have a large update to do and it’s best that we made them temporarily disappear…..
March 2010: We’ve never been much for blowing our own horn around here . . . no fancy website, no hokey sales gimmicks, and no excuses about how busy we are when we’re late with an order. Instead we just keep plugging along year after year, trying to stay focused on a quality product at a fair price.
In the spring of 2007 we were approached by a pre-production team from HBO and received a rather exciting order for 100 fixbale helmets to be used in a miniseries. We built our OPTION #1 FIXBALE for them and were told they’d be used on principal actors as well as extras appearing in close-ups.
Despite requests that we tell our story and share pictures about the HBO order, we’re still a little red-faced about posting the photos and caving in to shameless commerce (as they say on “Car Talk”). Nevertheless, you asked for it.
I would also like to thank Larry and Matt for their dedication to the project!
Enjoy the photos — and the new miniseries!
